What’s Neohesperidin Dihydrochalcone(NHDC)?
Neohesperidin Dihydrochalcone(NHDC), also known by its E number E959, is a non-nutritive (essentially zero-calorie), high-intensity artificial sweetener derived from natural citrus extract neo-hesperidin in pure water by hydrogenation reaction. NHDC is 1500-1800 times sweeter than sucrose and can be used as a low-energy food sweetener for diabetics. And it is refreshing and pleasant, accompanied by a refreshing sensation of mint and a special fragrance.
NHDC has good stability, very stable in the PH range of 2-14. It is one of the most stable and safe sweeteners known at present, commonly used as a flavor enhancer and bitterness masking agent in food and beverages.
